My work serves to be intimate, engaging, and transparent and is often based on alluding to metaphors in my poetry manuscripts I have developed over the last seven years. In my photographic work, I aim to create images that are as confrontational as they are still and sensitive to each stanza.
The Series "Body Becomes Hometown" revolves around the themes of human intimacy and connection. This work is inspired by my need to understand my personal evolution of intimacy with myself and others. My recent series, "If You and I Were Bees", is a visual narrative to specific relationships that have influenced my definition of valuable relationships. My wish is for the viewer to feel soothed, represented, and challenged to examine their struggles and delights in their own relationships.
Each print in these series includes handwritten sections of each written piece that accompanies my visual work.
